From 21 to 28 June 2026, Guatemala City will host the 13th Continental Meeting of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network for Latin America and the Caribbean. Convened by the International Office together with the Continental Coordination Team, this gathering will bring together National Directors, Coordinators, and members of the national teams of the Prayer Network and the Eucharistic Youth Movement (EYM) from across the region.
Under the theme “Identity and Mission: Re-reading and Projecting Forward in the Light of the New Statutes and the General Regulations. A Special Focus on the EYM”, the meeting seeks to provide a time of prayer, discernment, and shared work in order to reflect on the journey undertaken so far and to plan the next steps of the mission throughout the continent.
This meeting takes place at a significant moment in the life of both the Church and the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network. On the one hand, it continues the process of renewal promoted in recent years, marked by the approval of the new Statutes and the recent publication of the General Regulations. On the other hand, the Church is entering a new stage with the beginning of the pontificate of Pope Leo XIV, inviting us to deepen the mission entrusted to this Pontifical Work in service of the Holy Father’s prayer intentions and the challenges facing humanity.
Participants will have the opportunity to share the reality of the mission in their respective countries, give thanks for the fruits received, discern current challenges, and strengthen the bonds of collaboration that have grown over recent years. Particular highlights include the national and continental experiences of The Way of the Heart, the Training of Trainers programme, EYM gatherings, and the various initiatives developed during the Jubilee Year of the Sacred Heart.
The meeting will also seek to deepen reflection on fundamental questions for the life of the mission: the identity of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, the participation of lay people, religious, and priests in this work, the service provided by national teams, the role of National Directors, and the coordination between continental and international structures.
The National Office of Guatemala will host this continental gathering, which is expected to provide a renewed opportunity to strengthen communion, collaboration, and friendship in the Lord among all those who serve this mission throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
We join together in prayer for this continental meeting, asking the Lord to grant abundant fruits for all participants and for the entire mission in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
