\nEl MEJ invita a los j\u00f3venes de todo el mundo avivir a la manera de Jes\u00fas<\/strong>, en una relaci\u00f3n de amistad de coraz\u00f3n a coraz\u00f3n con \u00c9l, basada en una espiritualidad eucar\u00edstica para la misi\u00f3n.<\/span>

Nuestra historia comienza con una sencilla pero poderosa petici\u00f3n del Papa P\u00edo<\/strong> IX: pidi\u00f3 a todos los cat\u00f3licos que le apoyaran con sus oraciones y sacrificios. Inspirado por esta llamada, un sacerdote franc\u00e9s llamado Padre Cross tuvo una idea brillante: \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 no invitar a los j\u00f3venes a unirse a esta importante misi\u00f3n?<\/em> Esta fue la chispa que lo inici\u00f3 todo. <\/p>\n

La idea tuvo un gran \u00e9xito y se extendi\u00f3 como la p\u00f3lvora. Para que te hagas una idea, cuando se celebr\u00f3 el primer Congreso Internacional en 1881, \u00a1ya cont\u00e1bamos con 100.000 miembros en todo el mundo! Incluso Santa Teresa de Lisieux form\u00f3 parte del movimiento desde los 12 a\u00f1os. <\/p>\n

Un impulso de un Papa y un nuevo nombre<\/strong><\/p>\n

M\u00e1s tarde, el Papa San P\u00edo X nos dio un enfoque especial: anim\u00f3 a los ni\u00f1os a recibir la Sagrada Comuni\u00f3n y les pidi\u00f3 que rezaran por la paz en tiempos de guerra en Europa. \u00a1Un nuevo comienzo! Nace el Movimiento Eucar\u00edstico Juvenil <\/strong><\/p>\n

La historia da otro giro apasionante en 1962. Adoptamos oficialmente el nombre que tenemos hoy: Movimiento Eucar\u00edstico Juvenil (MEJ)<\/strong>. No se trataba s\u00f3lo de un cambio de nombre, sino que supuso una renovaci\u00f3n completa de nuestro estilo de ense\u00f1anza para conectar mejor con los j\u00f3venes. Esta nueva energ\u00eda se extendi\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente a otros pa\u00edses. <\/p>\n

En la actualidad, el MEJ es la <\/span>propuesta<\/span> de la Red Mundial de Oraci\u00f3n del Papa y est\u00e1 presente en m\u00e1s de <\/span>60<\/span> pa\u00edses de los cinco continentes. Nuestro principal objetivo es sencillo: ayudar a los j\u00f3venes a construir una amistad personal con Jes\u00fas, utilizando el Evangelio y la Eucarist\u00eda como gu\u00edas. \u00a1Ahora somos el segundo movimiento juvenil cat\u00f3lico m\u00e1s grande del mundo!<\/span>
