The first EYM International Youth Council met on 16th March, 2023 to contribute to the organisation of the EYM pedagogical proposal for WYD 2023 in Lisbon.

Young people from all over the world gathered together, delegates from each continental coordination: France, Italy, USA, Brazil, Paraguay, El Salvador, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Angola, India, Philippines and Indonesia. There was a large participation evidencing their enthusiasm and commitment to provide their personal contribution, both practical and spiritual.

The Council confirms that the Eucharistic Youth Movement, The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network Youth branch, will be able to participate in WYD Lisbon also from their countries. In fact, the goal is that all EYM young people, from any part of the world, feel part of WYD even from home, participating online and in prayer even if they are not physically present in Lisbon. The council, made up of young people who will go to WYD Lisbon, and others who will experience it from their countries, participating in the local EYM events, have been working on the preparation of the EYM Festival on 2nd August in Lisbon. This event will be accessible online to our EYM teams.

A team of reporters from EYM France will help national teams and EYM young people from all over the world to participate, even from their homes, in this event dear to Pope Francis.
