NAME OF THE PROJECT:
“WOMEN IN POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBILITY”
Pope Francis has repeatedly reaffirmed that today there are still too many differences between the possibilities offered to women and men, the recognized value of both and the role that each assumes within a company.
The Holy Father has also emphasized the urgency of welcoming the challenge of equal opportunities between women and men at every level. As he specified in his video in October 2020:
“We must promote the integration of women,
especially where important decisions are made.
We pray that by the virtue of baptism, the laity, especially women,
may participate more in areas of responsibility in the Church (…)”
Why have we put effort into this work?
The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network considers women to be precious resources within their own teams, that the Holy Spirit speaks to us through the diversity of each one’s gifts, and plans to set aside funds exclusively destined for the remuneration of women employed in positions of responsibility on national teams, in order to promote their presence.
Why do we need your help?
Specifically, the Prayer Network intends to respond to the appeal for action from Pope Francis by setting up a fundraising plan for the remuneration of women taking on their mission of responsibility.
The first goal is to nominate and support women national coordinators and directors, along with women members of national boards, especially in Africa, South Asia and Asia Pacific.
