On July 22, the international pilgrimage of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network brought together participants from around the world for a deep spiritual experience in one of the most significant places for devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The gathering began with a Mass celebrated in the Basilica and presided over by Father Cristóbal Fones, SJ, international director of the Prayer Network. The pilgrims expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to be together in this very significant place.
Afterward, the international team presented testimonial videos about devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which set the tone for the day and invited deeper personal reflection.
Next, the participants formed small international groups, creating a space to share personal experiences and stories about how they live out this spirituality.
The pilgrimage continued with “The Way of the Heart,” during which the international groups—each in their own language—visited key sites such as the Basilica, the Chapel of the Visitation, the La Colombière Chapel, and the surrounding parks.
At the La Colombière Chapel, a special blessing of a commemorative plaque for this international pilgrimage was held. This moment was followed by Eucharistic Adoration and a blessing for all the pilgrims.
The day concluded with a festive dinner and a time of fraternity, filled with music, songs, and dancing, celebrating the unity and diversity of their community.
This pilgrimage to Paray-le-Monial remains a significant testimony to the shared faith and commitment of the Pope’s Prayer Network family throughout the world.
