Join

the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer

You, and anyone, anywhere in the world, are invited to be part of this great network of prayer. There are two ways to participate:

Open participation: accessible to anyone.

Belonging participation: a deeper commitment to the spirituality of the Heart of Jesus in communion with other prayer groups at the local level.

Both are inspired by the Eucharist as a model of offering and availability, following the style of Jesus.

Open Participation

Open participation is for anyone who wants to join in prayer and action:

As an individual

Pray for the Pope’s monthly intentions. A special moment is the first Friday of the month, when millions of people unite for the same cause.

As a group

Parishes, shrines, communities, or movements can gather and dedicate the first Friday to prayer for the Pope’s intentions.

With different charisms

Many congregations and movements sustain this mission, some through the Eucharistic Youth Movement (EYM) or groups of the Apostleship of Prayer.

Belonging Participation

Belonging means a deeper commitment to the spirituality of the Heart of Jesus. It is expressed through living out The Way of the Heart, the spiritual path of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network. This commitment fosters explicit connections and communication with the prayer network through national offices in communion with the Episcopal Conferences and various diocesan teams, allowing for the sharing of materials, initiatives, gatherings, and celebrations to #praytogether.

Personal Belonging

At a personal level, belonging involves weaving prayer into your daily life:

Daily Offering Prayer

Each morning, offer your day for the intentions of the Pope (and your bishop, when available)

Three daily moments of prayer

Pause during the day to reconnect with God’s presence and mission.

Covenant with Jesus Christ

For those who desire a closer union with the Heart of Jesus, the National Office proposes a formal consecration, a personal commitment of love and service.

Community Belonging

Communities can also embody this deeper belonging. There are three main ways:

Parish Groups of the Apostleship of Prayer

Rooted in our tradition since the 19th century, these groups gather regularly in parishes and religious institutions. Their purpose: to live the spirituality of the Heart of Jesus together, pray for the Pope’s intentions, and encourage one another in faith.

Eucharistic Youth Movement (EYM)

The EYM is an international formation movement for children and young people. It helps them learn to pray, to serve, and to follow Jesus in daily life. Through community, prayer, and action, young people discover how their lives can make a difference in the world.

Other Pope’s Prayer Communities

Many ecclesial communities and prayer groups — in parishes, schools, congregations, or other institutions — live this spirituality in their own way. Each preserves its own charism and history while being united in the worldwide mission of prayer and service with the Pope.

How to Get Started

Whether you choose to pray with us openly or commit to a deeper membership, your participation helps build a worldwide network of prayer and action, united in the mission of the Church.
