On August 10th, the Annual Rally, the national meeting of the Apostleship of Prayer on the island, was held at the parish in Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago. Representatives from numerous communities gathered for an intense day of prayer and fraternity, centered around devotion to the Heart of Jesus.
The celebration, which usually takes place on the solemnity of the Sacred Heart, was postponed this year to coincide with the visit of the International Director of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, Fr. Cristóbal Fones, SJ. The day included the Eucharist, moments of adoration, songs, and time for reflection and fraternal sharing. It was a significant occasion to strengthen bonds of communion and renew enthusiasm for the mission of praying with the Pope for the challenges of humanity and the Church.
Fr. Cristóbal Fones, SJ’s visit also extended to Venezuela, where he met with the national team of the Network, sharing about the mission they have sustained for many years with great fidelity and commitment. The work of accompanying numerous groups in their consecration to the Heart of Jesus and in praying for the Holy Father’s intentions was highlighted.
Opportunities for prayer through music were also created in Caracas, Maracaibo, and Mérida, experiences that strengthened community life and kindled hope for the future. These gatherings were an opportunity to give thanks for the persevering service of the communities in Venezuela and to renew the commitment to continue promoting this pontifical work at the service of the Church.
