Effective January 1, 2025, Fr. Cristóbal Fones SJ will take on the role of International Director of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network

From November 9 to 22, the Acting International Director, Cristóbal Fones SJ, and the International Vice Director, Bettina Raed, visited the Pope’s Prayer Network mission in India.

The Superior General of the Society of Jesus, Fr. Arturo Sosa, SJ, has assigned Fr. Miguel Pedro Melo, SJ, from the Portuguese Province, to join the international office of the Vatican foundation the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network.

The Pope recently published an encyclical letter on the occasion of the Jubilee of the Heart of Jesus, which celebrates the 350th anniversary of the manifestation of the Heart of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1673, the origin of the Feast of the Sacred Heart.

The 4th National Congress of the Apostleship of Prayer – Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network of Brazil was held from October 18-20, gathering nearly 500 participants, including priests, religious, and lay people representing more than 80 dioceses who are part of this mission in the country.

As part of the Jubilee commemorating the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of the Heart of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary in Paray-le-Monial, an important meeting was held from October 14 to 15 at the Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart.

The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (which includes the Apostleship of Prayer groups and the Eucharistic Youth Movement) has adopted a new organizational structure necessary to manage a Pontifical Work that has experienced significant growth in recent years.
