As part of the celebrations marking the 180th anniversary of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, a First Friday Eucharist in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was held on Friday, December 6th. The ceremony took place in the Saint Francis Borgia Chapel at the General Curia of the Society of Jesus, with a special intention: to pray for the “Pilgrims of hope,” the theme proposed by the Pope for his prayer intention this month, and to give thanks for the life and mission of this work dedicated to compassion.
At the conclusion of the Eucharist, Fr. Frédéric Fornos SJ, together with members of the international office team, officially commissioned the new Leadership Team, invoking a special blessing from the Lord to accompany them in their mission.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Lord for Fr. Frédéric’s years of service, his generosity, and his faithful dedication to the mission entrusted to him. In the same spirit, we pray that the Sacred Heart of Jesus may inspire and guide the new leaders of this ecclesial service entrusted by the Holy Father: Fr. Cristóbal Fones SJ, María Bettina Raed, and Fr. Miguel Melo SJ.
